gderamel | NEWS: SeaStar Redux?!
Found this on a French seaplane website...
Seems Avana Aerospace, of Hungary, is/was reviving the infamous SeaStar (...Seawind copy). The name of this new (?) airplane is the 'Larus' T601 ("Gull" in Hungarian).
Or, is this just anther old picture?
Translation of the french caption:
Built in Hungary, powered by a Walter M601 turboprop and equipped with 6 seats.
The plane is awaiting permission to test-fly by the Hungarian government.
The construction to be in a modern factory, next to the shores of Lake Balaton [Hungary].

CLIPPING FROM EAA SPORT MAGAZINE (JUNE 2009)
Avana Aerospace (Somogyvar, Hungary,www.Avono-Aero.com) The main attraction in the expansive Hungarian aerospace industry display was the prototype Larus (Hungarian for "Gull ") T601 amphibian from Avana Aerospace. This four- to six-place pressurized luxury amphibian can be powered by a Walter M601, Honeywell TPE331-10, or Pratt &. Whitney PT6 turboprop. The parent company's extensive experience as a mold maker [SeaStar??] was evident in the appearance of the plane's smooth carbon fiber construction. With first flights expected before the summer, the Larus' estimated performance figures include a cruise speed of 230 knots, a range of 1,350 nautical miles, service ceiling of 28,000 feet (pressurization of 8,000 feet at 25,000 fcet), 3,000-pound useful load, and 6,000 pound maximum takeoff weight (MTOW).
Photo Caption (www.seaplaneinternational.com):
Last, but not least there was a great interest about the hungarian turboprop express amphibia (what is still under development), the AVANA Larus T601. They didn’t bring the prototype, since last year the plane was damaged [Karma?] during transportation. The enlargeable picture of the airplane was taken in Friederichshafen.
