Congradulations to Dorian Olson on his newly Completed Seawind. She's a beauty. Jack and Dorian flew it to MN yesterday and we'll find out how well it went soon.
Once again, Congradulations on a great looking plane.

Sadly, I let this one get away without taking very many pictures of the finished product. I'm sure Dorian will take some once he gets the interior done. hint Hint.

My congratulations to Dorian Olson and Planemakers for a beautiful, high performing Seawind. 49 knot stall speed, 170 knot cruise, and about 10-15 seconds off the water. These Planemaker wings keep getting better and better. Dorian and I brought the airplane home to Detroit Lakes, MN last Thursday, for a very uneventful flight of about ten hours, although we flew through quite a bit of instrument weather.
Dorian flew four solo runway landings before I left and is busy now perfecting his landings and showing off his Seawind to all the folks in Detroit Lakes.

A special thanks to John and Chris of Planemakers for the manner in which they dealt with me and my plane. I'll always be grateful for their patience and willingness to teach a novice like me how to do so many things associated with building a Seawind. Having spent a week out of each winter month in Sarasota, I learned countless hands-on procedures that would have been much more difficult without their guidance.
Another person I want to thank is Jack Ardoyno. We spent six long days together getting the plane ready for the DAR inspector, the test flight, two days of lessons, and the flight back to Minnesota. Jack pitched in with all aspects of getting the plane ready to fly, includiing solving minor glitches, cleaning up unexpected messes, recommending various instrument settings, etc.--never afraid to get his hands dirty. His patience in teaching me how to fly a plane with a high thrust liine was exceptional, finally turning me loose to solo on the sixth day. Believe me, he was worth every penny invested. I look forward to more lessons on the water, once my airport landings become second nature.

Congratulations Dorian, What A beautiful Seawnd, Mike asked what HP to get a cruise speed of 170 kts. I can cruise in N80CC 170/180 mph but not 170 knts. Hey Dorian, How about flying the airventure race with Mike R and Me. WOW what a blast! The race will be from Mitchell S. D. to Oshkosh this year. The last week of July. I'll get the exact dates for you so you can mark your calendar. The start airport would be almost in your back yard. ?????? Keith Walljasper N80CC
