Fred, Happy New Year. Back in August of 08 you inquired about the poppet valves we designed for use in the Seawind aircraft. At this time we have sufficient stock on hand to build 11 sets of valves at 2004 prices. We have held in our stock the solenoids that are used in this setup for the last four years. Due to tax law we cannot do this much longer and must salvage this stock. This does not mean that the valves will not be available. They will continue to be available but at the price that is current at the time they are ordered. When we talked you were hosting a meeting of Seawind owners and you were going to discuss this subject. Now is a great opportunity to for Seawind owners to convert to the poppet valves at a lower price. Seawind is still struggling and does not seem to have firm plans toward getting back into production. My estimate is that if Seawind is unable to get back to production by the end of 2009 we will make a concerted effort to sell these valves into other applications. When they are exhausted we will not make a production batch again. Unless there are sufficient orders we may discontinue production altogether. If we reach that point I doubt that any individual owner could afford to have just one set made. Seawind owners would have to band together with sufficient quantity to have a small production batch machined. It would require 8 to 9 owners to generate a quantity that would be practical from and economic stand point. If you know of any owners that would like to have the best hydraulic valves for this application please have them call me, Jeff Boore, at 610-434-5090 or Bill Smith at 847-566-5700. This is a good opportunity for Seawind owners using the old spool valves to convert to the better poppet valve system. Please let me know if you are aware of any owners that would be interested.
Kind regards, Jeff Boore

Sounds like a good idea. Can anyone tell me where in the hydraulic system these poppet valves are used? Jim

Hi Fred....what's cooking..?
Are the valves you are talking about different from the valves purchased in the early 90's..? When was the cut over..? I understand that the valves you are now talking about are new stock. Are they any better than before..?
I had some sticking problems when I purchased my bird however, taking them apart and cleaning.....no problems since.
Jim,
They are found in the nose compartment for the landing gear, flaps, steering........
Hey Jim......Are you building..?

Yes, Mike. I am building. Just finishing the main landing gear. I will be starting the nose gear shortly. It is a bit slow. It seems that the placement of almost every bolt has to be engineered in some fashion. The kit is like a collection of 5000 loose parts with a book of suggestions. However, this is the plane I want to fly. I am satisfied, even greatly pleased, with the basic design concept. - Jim

I as well would like to know more about this valve. I have had my nose steering stick twice on me and cause me to get out of the plane on the runway to straighten the nose wheel. It hasn't done it lately but is this what the new valve is supposed to correct?

Fred,
A complete set is $1250.00. There is definitely a limited supply of these. When existing stock of these runs out we will either not make more unless Seawind get back into production or there is still sufficient demand to make a limited production run. In the latter case the price will be above what I just quoted to you. 12 and 24 VDC versions are available. Several sets have been sold over the last month. If your members switch to new valve arrangement they will probably have a life of the aircraft system if they maintain the filtration. Please pass this on to the members. They can reach me at jeff@wandfluh-us.com. Or they can call me at 610-434-5090. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Jeff, thanks for the message, I just posted it on the seawind forum website with your email address.
What would be your best pricing to sell one, and your best pricing to sell several of these.
Thanks
