    keithw | Fuel Leak

Hi Mike, I had the fuel line fitting at the left wing ( wing to fuseledge) develope a very small leak. It was such that it was impossible to tighten without cutting part of the wing fairing away. No problem! Fixed the leak by replacing the 90degree fuel line fitting. Note that I had only15 or so gal of fuel in each wing so as I did the work I had all the fuel transferd into the right wing. Now note Im no wizz bang in doing this repair (a month or so) so now all is fixed and I transfered fuel back and low and behold fuel leaked like a gusssher back at the other fitting that came out of the wing. Oh Shit---Transferd allfuel back to the right wingand called John at Planemakers. John came up and we slid the left wing out for the repair. Well low and behold the gusher was at the fuel level probe mounting. Now note-- it did not leak at all before and John came to the conclusion that if the fuel is not on the gasket it will shrink and leak big time. We replaced the gasket ad used gasket sealer and put wing back and all is fine. John M is good Comming to fly in??? Keith

    keithw | Mike Engine Popping

Found the problem! Two of the air intake tubes had cracks in the flange at the engine. This situation causes rough idle and the poping . At high R P M the engine runs fine. Replaced the tubes. Keith
