Talk about homebuilt.......This is on E-bay....

I am offering for sale an 'airplane' that I built for an Engineering class project (strength of materials class). I am trying to recoup some of my investment.

The assignment was to build a boat that would hold myself and my build partner while we made a circuit around a local lake. The only materials allowed were single ply cardboard, liquid nails, duct tape and paint. The paint used was UGL drylock basement sealer. I also have over 100 pictures depicting the build process.

The boat / plane performed flawlessly. It was powered by a small trolling motor (trolling motor and battery not included in auction!). It was very stable in use. The Wing and Fuselage are two seporate units (easier to transport). The fuselage rest over top of the wing and your weight holds it all together. With approximately 550 lbs (myself, partner, battery & motor) the draft was less than 3 inches. I do not recommend using this boat were wakes are present. A small lake pond would be excellent or it could be used in a cardboard boat regatta. It is also a great conversation piece.

The wing span is 16 foot and the body 13 foot long. Buyer will be responsible for pick up. I am not offering a shipping option due to the size of the boat. No guarantee of any kind is offered on this item. Buyer accepts item as is and any / all responsibility in it's use. Seller can not be held liable in any way what so ever from use of this item.

Thank you for looking and if you are serious about purchasing, I can send additional pictures, contact me through ebay. The boat is located in winston-Salem, NC.

    Happy boating!
