At the recent Splashin, I raised the subject of what I would call Seawind "AD"s. Mike Witkowski informed me that the forum already had a section devoted to "SAMS", which would conceivably serve the same purpose.
While we would not seek the authority and comcomitant paperwork associated with real AD's, we think it would be helpful to publish a section on the forum which dealt with critical modifications which would enhance the safety of flying Seawinds.
Some items which come to mind are:
MLG axle pin travels
Big Tail failures
MLG attach point "dog bone" joint failures
NLG reinforcement
and others.
It appears that this might be best accomplished by a group effort, a panel of experienced Seawinders, who would discuss issues, assign a panel member the problem and solution and then "peer review" the proposal before publication on the dedicated part of the web site.
I am looking for Seawinders who would care to volunteer for this collaborative effort.
So far, John and Chris of Planemakers, Mike Witkowski, and I have volunteered.
