Tom Saccio | Sad News
I received some terrible news this morning. It is with great sadness that I tell you that Jack Ardoyno was killed in a plane crash in Sarasota,FL yesterday afternoon. He was flying a Seawind with a passenger when the plane lost power and crashed. I don't know who the passenger was. He is alive and in a hospital in Sarasota with second and third degree burns.
If I get any other news I will pass it on.

Kristle and I are stunned by the news. I lost a good friend and mentor. We are sitting here numb, reflecting on all the good times we shared with Jack.
Our thoughts are with Lyndia and their family. Jack was a special friend to all Seawinders and will be truly missed.

Likewise, Sharon and I are still in disbelief. The hearts of the entire seawind community go out to Lyndia and family. Jack's contribution to us all has been too immence to begin to tell. His infectious upbeat humor and smile will be sadly missed.

Mackie and I cannot believe jack is gone. Just a month ago Jack spent three days with us instructing me in my Seawind. Jack enjoyed life, had a positive attitude and a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

This is a very sad day for all Jacks freinds and family. The seawind community has lost a dear friend and partner. Our condolances go out to the family.
I remember flying to wisconson a few years ago for water training. Jack had mentioned at the onset that he is the pilot in command and if he says to do something it is to be done without question. I still remember the grin he had when he said that. As time went on all went well. Up, down, in and out of the water we went. The last day we were ready to land in Hayward, about 400 feet on final ....... And Jack pipes up and says, " Do a go around". I L@@ked at him like.........before i could get a word out he reminded me of his first statement. I started the go around and asked....whats up? He mentioned that the gear was up!
Jack was a great instructor always looking out for everyons best interest!
He will be missed!!

Tom Saccio | Thank you
This Elise Ardoyno, Jack's daughter, Tom graciously let me use his login to read what everyone was saying. Thank you very much for your thoughts. The relationships my father formed through the Seawind community meant the world to him. There is so much to take care of because of the accident, but we will be planning a memorial service, just not this weekend. You are all welcome to attend because you did mean so much to him. I can't pretend that I am in love with Seawinds. This accident is like my worst fear coming true, but when you love someone, you love the whole person, and dammnit, he loved Seawinds. I do not, but I love him like crazy and I love how happy you all made him. If any of you would like to contact me personally, please do so at toddandelise@hotmail.com I will keep Tom informed of updates to the memorial service. Thank you - Elise Ardoyno

Ever since i heard of Jack's death two days ago, i have been having a very hard time dealing with a deep sadness and sense of loss. But hearing from Elise has made me feel better, because certainly if she can handle it, so can we seawinders. Her note got me thinking about Jack and his good nature, patience, common sense, ironic sense of humor and his love for all things that fly and land on the water especially the seawind. He would want us to "keep calm and carry on" and so I will. Thanks for everything you taught me Jack, we had a blast flying and hanging out. and thanks, Elise

I had the opportunity to meet many of you and Jack this past August at the splash in.
It was very sad to hear of this tragic incident.
While at the splash in, I was able to see that Jack was a dear friend and leader to all Seawinders near and far. His expertise and patience has helped many Seawinders with their construction issues and flying skills. It was easy to see that when there was any type of question, Jack was one of the first to hear about it and offer a solution. Jack's passion of the Seawind community was beyond obvious and certainly untouchable.
My deepest sympathy go out to his family and the Seawind community.

I just learned of Jack's passing. I can't say how shocked and saddened I am. Jack was definitely a rare bird; I'm so glad I got to know him. I only wish he wasn't taken from us so soon. I know I had a lot more to learn from him.
