Allen Low | Advice for New Seawind Pilot

    Hi all

Im new to the Seawind world.

Im looking for a used Seawind and am looking for advice:

    1) Tips on what to look for when purchasing one.

    2) If I find a good one, an experienced Seawind mechanic who can do a prepurchase inspection

    3) An experienced Seawind instructor to give me some dual.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

(I have an ATP and a lot of flight time, but not in a Seawind)

    Thanks

    Ed Lynch | Welcome!

    Dear Allen,

Welcome to the Seawind community! Nice bunch of guys (and gals)!

When you start looking at Seawinds, you will soon realize they are all quite different, even in their sameness. You will certainly be able to find a "good" one, because there are many, but as far as I know, no two are really the same. So what you need-like-want to spend-will play a big part in your choice. I am getting ready to retire from flying, and so my Seawind will be on the market sometime soon, and you are welcome to come fly it. It was built "by the book" with only a few additions, and no real changes from the original plans. Ed

    Mike

Ed does have a nice plane! Ed also has many hours in his seawind and would be a good person to contact for a purchase as well as flying.

If you need help with a pre-buy or have other questions.....I can also help. A good a&p and one of us can do wonders.
