    petepeek | A Few questions

    Hi Guys

Have been a Machinist/tin Pecker/Pilot since the 60's, Glad we have a Late Kit, Guys had their hands full with an early Kit of pieces, WOW... Have most of the Kit # 127, and have a few questions that are mechanical and desire to check with guys that can answer from experience what instruction books don't or can't..........

Home inboard fuel strainers, when go to install, on Kit # 127, the screen portion runs into the sloped bottom inside the tank, have ya shortened them ?, Modified?, Replaced?, eliminated?, did they mount the ports too low or were they just engineers that were not Mechanics/Builders???

The Hangar Where can we buy more composite sheet/Panel like all the parts are made of ??? for console, additional gussets at rear of canopy to floor and just to have for use...

#3 All of the Aileron and Flap brackets that mount on the rear spar of the wings mount to the OUTSIDE or their respective Ribs, CORRECT ???

looks like, seems like in pictures, see broken lines in manual but not found in verbage of instructions, measure 2 or 3 times, Ask the silly questions before trimming, cutting anything..

Blogs Like we said we have most of the Parts to the Kit, the rest are coming, but are there any loose parts out there from broken, partial, damaged kits, any origional parts where other parts were used in place of origional or any that were completed, Dismantled or had mishaps????

Never itched like this, Tin Pecking

    Thank You Very Much Gentlemen

Have our Cardinal all rebuilt, done and Flying, but This will Be Really COOL

    Thanks Mike

Cool on the fuel question, guess others noticed same situation with strainers, can shorten maybe to clear , filters inside fuselage will be simpler tho to maintain and check , Thanks,

will check as advised on other questions,

Looking at plane makers pictures better we see aileron and flap brackets mount on the outside of respective ribs

    Thanks again Mike

Ed Lynch | A few Questions----

No strainers, and half inch lines into filters inside is definitely the way to go. You will be cleaning fiberglass junk out of the filters for months (years?). Make them handy! You can make your own foam core board. Aircraft Spruce has all the stuff you need. I make it regularly for other projects, like race car bodywork.

Now--a question of my own: Does anyone know the whereabouts of my sketches and instructions on how to make servo tabs for your ailerons? I have lost track of the packet of stuff, and Keith Walljasper has asked for the info to do his plane. Anybody have it?? Ed

I don't, however, If you find them I can scan them and post them in the maintenance section of this forum......

Ed Lynch | Aileron servo tab info

Mike, I have been reunited with my missing aileron servo tab notes (sort of). Tony Jurcan has e-mailed them to me- the notes, pictures, and buy list, all in good order. If I knew how to forward them to you, I would do so. My computer skills are primitve at best. Give me your e-mail address, and I'll give it a try. Ed
