Russ Kotlarek | Seeing the light !

Fred said it the best "I can see the light at the end of the tunnel", in this case I hope that is not a train.

The hydraulics are done, the wings still have some work but they are pretty far along, Just about done playing with the gear simply to watch it go up and down so well, and I'm ready to take it off the cradle.

The engine I think is pretty much done less air ducting, the prop will go back on soon and the static runs will start with reverse and all. With the changes I promised Dick I would keep to ourselves but all of you know about, I am honestly excited to see if this engine will stay on the plane without any small engineering slip ups being overlooked.

I have avoided putting in the floor boards so far and with a reassuring conversation with Ed about not needing to have them in place with the straps inside them to put it on it's feet I feel much better about doing so.

I still have all those pesky little "details" I am sure will drive me nuts accomplishing. But the computer Monitoring system I created and wrote the software for has hugely simplified the wiring aspects of the engine, gear, flaps, and so on. I included an older picture I will need to update soon, but it gives a display of all systems including pressure and temps at every step of the cooling system, as well it logs all this data to a flash drive very 1/2 second. With video cameras in digital sync with the logs it will be an absolute joy recording stall speeds, landing speeds, angle of attack, and aircraft performance in great detail.

Who knows 2013 may just be the year to join you guys in flying in to the splash in. Only 15 years after I took delivery of the plane but hey Corvan and Robin were ended up being a great investment of time while the Seawind sat on the shelf so to speak. After all Corvan insists he is going to pay my fuel bills for the Seawind and my live on Trimaran I cruise the Bahama's in, and Robin insures me she will take care of my food and medical so I'm good to go !!! all I need is enough cash to afford my "green label each day" oh wait is that covered under food? LOL

Sorry for the update guys but indeed " I see the light at the end of the tunnel" and I look forward to flying in Ed's formation instruction with each and every one of you. It has been a good ride with great friends and I look forward to "Miller time" as a flying Seawinder.

Ed Lynch| Thanks for the update, Russ!

Glad to hear you're pleased with your progress lately, and I for one am also really looking forward to your first flight. Sounds like your Seawind is state of the art, with a lot of your original work in it! Keep us posted......Ed

    Jack Ardoyno | Congratulations!

It sounds very exciting. The update is very interesting and, like Ed, I hope you will keep us posted on your further progress. As you get closer I will be happy to send you various checklists that I use when I test them and any tips I will have for your first flight.

    Jack
