mike reibling | asphalt pricing
This is going to sound odd but, Oct 1st Kristle and I purchased a acreage with a runway.
The asphalt on the runway is broken up and needs to be replaced so I just bought an asphalt spreader and packer to try to lower the cost of redoing the runway but raw material price here has recently just doubled from $50.00 to $100.00 per ton.
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the price of asphalt in your area. I want to know if $100/ton is the same price in other markets as well.

Hey Mike Called a local asphalt company that I have done business with in the past and they dont like to quote material only pricing. The reasoning was that past direct sales caused problems due to the complecatedness of handling hot/asphalt mix.The going approx. rate is 150 dollars laid/compacted etc. With further discussion material costs equals slightly less than half. That comes to $68 / $72 per ton. A ton = about 80 sq. ft. I think ill stick to a hammer and nail or concrete. Good luck to you and it is sure good hearing from you. Keith Walljasper P S I think the air race this year is again from So. Dakota (Mitchell) The Good Lord willing Ill be there! P S again Just finishing my annual now. Keith N80CC
