Tony Jurcan | Engine Compartment Fire Detection

Since the recent crash I have been thinking about install heat detectors in the engine compartment. I attached a posting from the VAF website on thermal fusible links.

Fusible links are ok, cheap, and will work.....

I am looking into reusable heat detectors however they are running around $225.00 for 350* to 650*, OUCH.

I can purchase 135* and 190* for $10.00each but temp to low

I have been searching for a detector that will work in high temps.
So Far - John Parks came up with the best solution. Vulcan has a variable temp detector from -100 to 600*.
